Recruitment FAQs
I have no experience; can I still apply?
Absolutely! All our support worker roles are open to a variety of experiences and a full induction and training program is given to you when you start!
However, Lead Support Workers will need a minimum of a year’s experience supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and / or Autism.
Will I need references and background checks?
All our roles are subject to strict background checks, these are governed by CQC. This means that we will require the following from you if you are successful:
- Proof of the following:
- Right to Work
- Address
- Reference information
- Enhanced Adults DBS (we can run one for you)
- Driving license (if applicable)
- DVLA Check (If applicable)
We understand that this process can seem thorough, but it is crucial for maintaining the high standards of support we provide. We will do our best to complete these checks as quickly as possible.
What happens when I have been offered the job?
All our offers are subject to the following conditions:
- Enhanced DBS Check: This ensures you have no relevant criminal convictions that would prevent you from working with vulnerable adults.
- References: We will contact your previous employers or other references to verify your work history and suitability for the role. We require the last two years of employment covered plus any periods of employment within Health and Social Care.
- Insurability on a Mobility Vehicle (if applicable): If the role requires driving a mobility vehicle, we need to ensure you are insurable under our policy.
When can I start?
We will initiate the background checks on the same day you are offered the role! All our checks are completed online so you will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet or phone.
We would love for you to start as soon as possible; however, we do need to wait until your DBS and references are returned to us. These are both out of our control, but we will do what we can to get them back as soon as possible. Typically, this process takes about 2-4 weeks.
The recruitment team will be on hand to give you updates and answer any questions you may have throughout the process.
What will my first week look like?
Once your background checks are complete, we will arrange an office induction followed by your initial training, which will typically take two days to complete.
You will then be scheduled on to shadow shifts where you will spend time with the individual you will be working with along with a member of the team who is familiar with the expectations of the person supported.
Any other questions, please contact one of the team who will be happy to help.
What roles do you offer?
We offer a range of full-time and part-time opportunities across the organisation. Contracted hours can vary from 15 to 37.5 per week, plus sleep-in shifts. We typically don’t schedule long day shifts; instead, our standard pattern follows a Late/Sleep/Early rota, usually including two sleep-in shifts per week.
Please note that we do not recruit for bank or relief positions, all roles are contracted and part of our core team.
